Description of FEISV Committees

Programs

Responsible for the monthly din­ner meet­ings; includes iden­ti­fy­ing the speaker, topic to be pre­sented, coor­di­nat­ing logis­tics regard­ing speaker (equip­ment required for pre­sen­ta­tion, etc). Objective is to present pro­grams and speak­ers that are enter­tain­ing, top­i­cal and rel­e­vant to the mem­ber­ship, with suf­fi­cient advance sched­ul­ing to allow event promotion.

Membership

Responsible for attract­ing new mem­bers to FEISV as well as retain­ing its exist­ing mem­bers. To accom­plish that mis­sion we are com­mit­ted to con­tin­u­ously pro­vid­ing vis­i­bil­ity into FEI’s resources as well as cre­at­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties for involve­ment and growth within the organization.

Partners

Responsible for serv­ing as a main point of con­tact with all cur­rent and prospec­tive Partners, facil­i­tate coor­di­na­tion with FEISV com­mit­tees, deter­mine ways to max­i­mize rela­tion­ships with Partners and mon­i­tor progress and satisfaction.

Professional Development

Responsible for devel­op­ing and coor­di­nat­ing a series of pro­fes­sional devel­op­ment sem­i­nars pro­duced and pre­sented by Chapter Partners aimed at enhanc­ing the knowl­edge of mem­bers over a broad range of finan­cial topics.

Academic Relations

Responsible for estab­lish­ing and expand­ing FEI col­lab­o­ra­tions with cer­tain Bay Area uni­ver­si­ties and uni­ver­sity pro­fes­sors, inter­view­ing schol­ar­ship can­di­dates and select­ing des­ig­nat­ing recip­i­ents as well as coor­di­nat­ing awards dis­burse­ments and recip­i­ent recognition.

Career Services

Responsible for fos­ter­ing a net­work envi­ron­ment to assist mem­bers in tran­si­tion or con­sid­er­ing tran­si­tion to iden­tify new oppor­tu­ni­ties. Collects and dis­trib­utes leads regard­ing spe­cific oppor­tu­ni­ties, main­tains a resume data base to facil­i­tate con­fi­den­tial searches, hosts monthly net­work­ing lun­cheons with speak­ers, and works to max­i­mize vol­un­teer con­tri­bu­tions to develop leads. Serves as inter­face with recruit­ing com­mu­nity to assist membership.

Communications

Responsible for Chapter com­mu­ni­ca­tions to mem­bers includ­ing the Chapter Directory and monthly newslet­ter; pro­mo­tion to prospec­tive mem­bers, man­ag­ing media part­ner­ships and main­tain­ing and updat­ing the Chapter Website.

Social/Arrangements

Responsible for meet­ing venue and enrich­ing the Chapter expe­ri­ence through added social activ­i­ties includ­ing the annual golf event.

Diversity

Represents the Chapter with doing its part in exe­cut­ing National’s diver­sity agenda. This includes reach­ing out to women, minori­ties and other groups that are inad­e­quately rep­re­sented within FEI membership.
